Benefits of Overlaminate Material

Depending on the material used to create your label, decal, overlay, or vehicle wrap will determine if a protective overlaminate film might be beneficial in prolonging the life of your graphic. Some examples of materials that can benefit from an overlaminate include:

Polyesters (PETs) If your graphic has been made with polyester material, an overlam can be ideal in terms of providing heat, abrasion and UV resistance.

Polycarbonate overlaminates offer a velvet-textured look that can change the design of your graphic.

Polypropylenes (PPs) provide good chemical resistance, particularly to acids. Adding an overlaminate to this material will aid in the protection from harsh substances.

Vinyl graphics can benefit from overlaminate to aid in the protection of your wrap, to help ease the installation, and simply make your wrap glossier. Adding an overlam to your vinyl graphic also aids in the removal of the wrap and can help protect against UV rays.

Partnering with a graphics printer who understands the ins and outs of different materials and films can help you determine if an overlaminate will benefit your needs.
