REACH Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals
One major REACH requirement is communication of chemicals up and down the supply chain. This ensures manufacturers and their customers are aware of information relating to health and safety of the product supplied. The list of harmful substances is continuously growing and requires organizations to constantly monitor any announcements and additions to the REACH scope. The legislation was proposed under dual reasoning: protection of human health and protection of the environment. REACH has been described as the most complex legislation in the European Union’s history and the most important in 20 years. It is the strictest law to date regulating chemical substances. REACH was established in 2007 with implementation occurring over the following decade.
RoHS Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive
The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive, RoHS is the directive of the use of certain hazardous substances in electronic equipment. Visual indicators have included explicit “RoHS compliant” labels, green leaves, check marks, and “PB-Free” markings.
Visual Marking Systems understands that these directives can impact your company’s ability to sell or distribute products in the EU. Therefore, we have declaration of conformance documents and technical documentation to satisfy RoHS, and other CE requirements.
